Do you remember the first time you saw the future love of your life?
I do.
I don’t remember the specific date, but I do remember a lot of other details about that encounter.
It was a Sunday.
(I was working at BC Teen Challenge at the time. Teen Challenge was the program I entered to seek freedom from a 10 year drug addiction in 2000. One of the responsibilities I had while working at Teen Challenge was to travel, and share with various churches, groups, and businesses in our Province about the work of TC.)
I was visiting Living Word Christian Fellowship, in Cloverdale, BC. I had a few students with me who were going to share their story about what God has been doing in their lives since entering the doors of Teen Challenge. We unpacked the van and entered the building. We were in a warehouse type building. It was quite nice inside. I remember approaching double doors to enter the sanctuary, when out of the corner of my left eye – I saw her!
Wow! She was incredible! She had beautiful, blonde flowing hair. She was wearing a red turtle neck. Not a corny 80’s one – a nice one. You could tell she liked nice things. What stood out to me the most though was – her passion! She had her hands lifted in the air, and she was whole heartedly praying.
She just stood there.
Hands in the air.
Worshipping.
In that moment I said to God in my heart – “God, that’s the type of woman I want to marry one day.”
And that’s the story of the first time I saw Jamie Christina Schneider.
Stay tuned. Next time I tell the story what happens next.
