Have you ever wondered how many fonts you have on your computer? Do you even know how many there are? I don’t. Over the years I have collected any fonts. Free ones and I have spent a few dollars throughout the years purchasing different fonts. Let’s just say I have a few fonts. To be honest, I haven’t always been that organized when it comes to my fonts or design files. One of the projects I am working on is properly naming all my files and even putting them in their necessary categories. I have begun the process, but like my fonts I have a ton of files. The other aspect of the current project is cleaning up my fonts. When I am working on something I spend a lot of time sorting through and picking a font. It can be quite frustrating at times. Obviously in design things change quite often. What is popular today isn’t necessarily the case tomorrow. With the changing times it is important to be organized and as time is money. What I have begun to do is pick a bunch of fonts that I like or see being used at this time and make a list. Sure, there are programs out there that I can use, but I don’t want to. So what I have done is made a list of those frequent fonts and placed it in a note book that sits next toy computer. It’s that simple. Now you may not like this method and that is totally ok. Do what works for you. It works for me and so that is how I am going to roll for the time being. Anyways, I would love to hear what you are doing to keep yourself organized.
