Staying Productive Without Always Being Online

Christmas is just around the corner…

One of the major traps for all of us since the inception of the smart phone is that we do not know how to disconnect and enjoy our surroundings. We live in a ‘social world.’ We are always ‘on,’ and it seems there is no turning back now.

It is incredible how many new Facebook posts are made every minute, how many tweets are sent, every picture uploaded to Instagram and how many videos are uploaded to YouTube every second.

This holiday season I am sure the numbers will dramatically increase. Are you ready for it? I know I am. One of things I am doing this Christmas season to remain productive without always having to have my phone in my hand is to ‘schedule’ some of my social profiles.

I am thankful for this! It allows me to remain ‘connected’ or shall I say it allows me to continue to broadcast my message or ‘brand’ without always needing to send a new tweet, share a post on our church’s Facebook page, or add a new post to my blog (I am writing this post as we speak a few days in advance of when it is scheduled to be published).

Being able to schedule allows me the opportunity to remain somewhat connected, while enjoying the scenery around me – my family. So this Christmas season don’t forget that you can remain productive without always having to be online.
